(Written for Lost In The Multiplex)
Charlie Kaufman‘s latest project Frank or Francis already has an impressive case including Steve Carell, Jack Black, Nicolas Cage, and Kevin Kline, but this week it has been reported that Kaufman has found his two leading ladies as Kate Winslet and Catherine Keener rejoin with the director in this musical comedy set for a 2013 release.
Both Winslet and Keener have already worked with Kaufman in some of their best roles, for which Winslet was nominated for an Oscar for in the Kaufman-penned Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Keener got her first Oscar nod thanks to Kaufman’s script for Being John Malkovich.
This time around, Kaufman will be directing the film as well, which follows a director (Carell) who becomes obsessed with the message board commenter (Black) disparaging his movies on a Hollywood website.
The new additions mean that the cast now includes three Oscar winners and a total of eleven total nominations. Can’t be bad.
